|Wedding vs Marriage

Recent weeks have been an influx of proposals, rings and Vera Wang catalogues. A newly married friend visited from the UK. Another close friend said 'Yes' to her beloved. Assisting a photographer friend at a wedding photo shoot. I feel the excitement and the love in the air. It forces you to think of the dream wedding you would like to have.
My dream wedding would be one that celebrates the start of a marriage. But a tiny celebration would suffice. No dinners, no guests. No posed shots and 5 hour hair&make-up sessions. Just me, him, a ring and a dress in a church. Loved ones are highly encouraged to attend, but optional. I'm a private person, and I'd like to have private moments. Crowds are best reserved for festivities and my wedding is not a festival, it's just a special day for me and him.
ps: If I am forced to have a dinner (aka. parental oppression) I would make all my guests suffer. I'd hold it on an ultra hot day on the beach, make everyone dress formally and I'd erect an air-conditioned tent for myself and myself only. Be warned.
